Microblading

Microblading is a semi permanent cosmetic tattoo that uses a hand held, non-motorized tool to scratch tiny lines within the eyebrow area. Microblading is only suitable for normal to dry skin types, and requires 2 sessions spaced 6-12 weeks apart. Touch ups are needed every 1-2 years to maintain the shape.

What makes microblading different than other styles of eyebrow tattooing?

The tool that’s used to implant the ink, the pattern of strokes you can create (cannot cross “Strokes/lines”) and the amount of time the appointment takes. Microblading does not last as long in your skin as Nano or Powder brows, and is thus ideal for people who know they’ll eventually want to change their brow shape or go darker in color. It is a great option for very light blonde brows, and someone who may not yet be ready to take the leap of the more permanent nano brows, as you can transition to nano brows at a later touch up. Microblading appointments take less time, and an initial numbing is used before the actual microblading starts. It is not suitable for clients with very dark brow hair, or those with oily skin and large pores.

What happens at my 1.5 hour appointment?

  • The first 30 minutes is the consultation. This is the opportunity to meet with Sophie and create a plan for your microbladed brows Sophie will work with you to design your brow tattoo based on your desires and to highlight your natural features. After the perfect shape is created, we will choose a pigment match based on your skin tone and brow/hair color. Please bring photos of tattoo examples that are similar to the look you’re hoping for. If you wear brow pencil or products, please arrive with your brows filled in. If you do not normally wear brow makeup or don’t have a good grasp for filling in your brows, just come as you are!

  • After the consultation, you will be numbed for 10 minutes, and we will do the first pass of the tattoo, or every other hair stroke. After the first pass, you will be numbed again and will feel hardly anything, if nothing at all! The second pass fills in the hair strokes that were not done during the first pass, and the 3-4th passes solidify each stroke thats already made, making sure each stroke is at the proper depth and is saturated to the desired intensity of color.

  • The actual microblading is very fast! It takes less than 15 minutes, but there is a lot of waiting in between — for the pigment to soak into the skin (just like hair dye!), and the numbing to activate while going back and forth between each brow.

  • At the end of the appointment: aftercare will be discussed, your touch up scheduled (6-12 weeks later), and the remaining payment will be taken.
